I was recently given the opportunity to work with Colleen Cuneo and her assistant Charmaine on some pop up fashion parades for The Canberra Centre. We represented some great labels and the shows were really well received. In week two, Charmaine (who made it to the top 30 in this years Australia’s next top model- out of 14,000 girls!) and myself were presented with the opportunity to style the parades. We spent the first three days on foot visiting the very best high street stores within the centre, pulling items and piecing them together to reflect colour blocking, white on white and 60s style trends for this season. It was an amazing week and I met some great people!
If you are an aspiring stylist, photographer or otherwise interested in breaking into the fashion industry, Colleen runs a fantastic program called ‘Girl Studio‘. She mentors and offers young women opportunities to gain experience in an otherwise tough industry. She has my utmost respect for the work she does and her role in developing, encouraging and inspiring young women in the media industry.
