BEFORE AND AFTER | Dining Chairs

Here’s a sneak peek at one of my latest projects; restoring a set of dining room chairs for my brother and his girlfriend. The original style can be seen above in the second image, covered in very old, worn, carpet like material. The structure of the chairs is very solid and reminiscent of Parker furniture which was very popular back in the 70s. For the makeover, I chose a selection of fabrics I felt best portrayed the couple’s combined styles. They are both medical students with interests in nature, biology, traveling, coffee, vintage, art, design and culture- I chose a combination of organic, nature based prints and contrasted these with some geometric prints with world traveller and retro influences. We’re working on two at a time and I’m still waiting on a couple of the remaining fabrics to arrive from overseas. So for the rest of the series, you’ll have to wait and see….
